Welcome to the 7th Citrus Research Symposium | Champagne Sports Resort Central Drakensberg
The 7th Citrus Research Symposium will be held at the Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg from Sunday, 19 August 2012 to Wednesday, 22 August 2012. Situated in the tranquility of the Central Drakensberg, boasting the most spectacular view of Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak, lies Champagne Sports Resort. The hideaway’s unique combination of convenient location, country club atmosphere, accommodation and friendly staff makes it an ideal venue for CRI’s 7th Citrus Research Symposium. The Citrus Research Symposia are held on a biennial basis and have previously been held in the following areas: Mpumalanga (2000), the Western Cape (2002), the Limpopo Province (2004), the Eastern Cape (2006) and KwaZulu-Natal (2008 & 2010).
The symposium will give feedback on citrus research conducted for the southern African citrus industry during the previous two years. This research has been conducted by researchers from CRI, several universities, the ARC and researchers from the private sector. The symposium will be attended by citrus producers and their technical staff, the citrus consultants (SASCCON), citrus exporters, the citrus nursery industry (SACNA), Citrus Cold Chain Forum (CCCF) which includes packhouses, the paper and carton manufacturing companies, PPECB and logistics, the chemical industry and delegates from other related industries.
This symposium will once again host guest speakers from abroad as keynote speakers. Bayer Crop Science will be the main sponsor.
